Quiteness...

The road has been long and bumpy one this year, however the road hasnt come to an end, but rather about to start.

people, brace yourselves for the new year. there is a lot to be conquered and i shall be doing so!

in the meantime will leave you with a pic from a fairly recent trip we did to find some waves, and that we did! Thanks to Simon Heale for shooting while making the paddle....next swell and conditions we will be all over it with the boat shooting the channel!

the first pic you will notice Michael Ostler on the shoulder...maybe the safest place to be :)

yes its about 10 - 14ft breaking on about knee deep reef about 0,5km out to sea if you want to know where it is...

Madonna Meets The Press 1980

Elterman writes:

“I was hired by Dick Clark’s press agent to cover the American Music Awards nearly every year for a decade. I had incredible access and I wanted to make a great photograph of this new singer called Madonna. There is little potential to be creative in this small area, but it made a wonderful photograph.”

Did Michael Jackson Bodyboard?

Strangely enough came through some of his lyrics from an all time classic 'rock with me' with two references to the boogie ;)

You got to feel the heat
And we can ride the boogie

....

When you feel that heat
And were gonna ride the boogie

Nandos Advert

Nandos ran an advert based on ANCYL and seems like they got an interesting response back... "If Nando's does not withdraw the adverts, the ANCYL will mobilise the people of South Africa to take militant action against Nando's and anything associated with Nando's," it said. Asked for clarification on what the league meant by "militant action", Malema would only say: "You will see it when it happens."

Deep Blue Sea

A call the night before and a quick update from my good old crew mates, James Moolenschoot and Peter Lambert we were heading out to the deep blue sea. Boat preped and equipment loaded we launched at first light...and off we went. Some tasters of what we came across even though the swell was dropping and not as strong as we hoped. Yes there are better shots to be seen but not yet ;)

Sir Cecil Beaton

A name and icon that changed the way we shoot the industry.

Sir Cecil Beaton, who died in 1980 at the age of 76, was one of the world's greatest celebrity photographers. In addition to immortalising stars and royalty on film, he also designed the costumes for My Fair Lady and Gigi. After one photo session with the Queen Mum, he admitted nicking her scented hankie as a keepsake.

spend some time on google and view his works, very interesting
