Time draws closer

Well its getting closer now for my departure on what i hope to be as one of my greatest adventures yet!

I have just over a month to go till i board the plane and bid fairwell to africa.

Been busy packing and preparing, closing down the studio and moving out the house this weekend coming, been really busy but things should start settling really soon!

Lining up the new equipment and binning the things that are no longer needed or of sentimental value in my life.

Keep posted here as as the time comes more and more content will start to show, when i touch down on the other side of the world, i will be doing constant updates and travel blogs with sample images....so stay posted!!

Quiteness...

The road has been long and bumpy one this year, however the road hasnt come to an end, but rather about to start.

people, brace yourselves for the new year. there is a lot to be conquered and i shall be doing so!

in the meantime will leave you with a pic from a fairly recent trip we did to find some waves, and that we did! Thanks to Simon Heale for shooting while making the paddle....next swell and conditions we will be all over it with the boat shooting the channel!

the first pic you will notice Michael Ostler on the shoulder...maybe the safest place to be :)

yes its about 10 - 14ft breaking on about knee deep reef about 0,5km out to sea if you want to know where it is...

Madonna Meets The Press 1980

Elterman writes:

“I was hired by Dick Clark’s press agent to cover the American Music Awards nearly every year for a decade. I had incredible access and I wanted to make a great photograph of this new singer called Madonna. There is little potential to be creative in this small area, but it made a wonderful photograph.”

Did Michael Jackson Bodyboard?

Strangely enough came through some of his lyrics from an all time classic 'rock with me' with two references to the boogie ;)

You got to feel the heat
And we can ride the boogie

....

When you feel that heat
And were gonna ride the boogie

yup there was no one else out as we arrived to mad barrels turning themselves inside out!! These are just a few randoms when the conditions got bad later on as rip was to washy to swim in the beginning, well and someone else had to enjoy the barrels with Ian as there was to many being wasted!

Nandos Advert

Nandos ran an advert based on ANCYL and seems like they got an interesting response back... "If Nando's does not withdraw the adverts, the ANCYL will mobilise the people of South Africa to take militant action against Nando's and anything associated with Nando's," it said. Asked for clarification on what the league meant by "militant action", Malema would only say: "You will see it when it happens."
